The ongoing mission of California VOAD is to build community strength, collaboration, and resilience through preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation (aka the disaster cycle); promote best practices; facilitate agile and effective response to human needs arising from natural and human-caused disasters, and strengthen and help VOAD Members and local VOAD/COADs perform their individual missions, assist survivors by:
Promoting the 4Cs (Cooperation, Communication, Collaboration, and Coordination).
Coordinating and connecting resources and services to affected communities and encouraging uniform, impartial provision of resources.
Fostering relationships with other disaster-related sectors, including emergency management, local governmental agencies, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, and nonprofit and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to encourage effective relief to disaster survivors.
Advocating for disaster relief, preparedness, response, and recovery operations that are consistent with the guidelines of NVOAD.
Building and strengthening the effectiveness of NorCal VOAD Members.
Highlighting accomplishments of individual NorCal VOAD Members and local VOADs.
